The Valsana Hotel sits at the entrance of Arosa village, bordering the Arosa forest, flanked by boat-dotted Obersee Lake, and surrounded by beautiful panoramic views of the Graubünden mountains. In other words, The Valsana seamlessly connects its guests to the dramatic Swiss nature and scenery typically reserved for daydreams and fairytales. A Green Globe Certified hotel, Valsana has been offering guests a 100% climate-neutral stay since 2019. The certification also reflects their daily commitment to making hotel operations as sustainable as possible. They offer carbon-neutral transportation to and from Arosa train station and in winter months, the Valsana complex is geothermally heated using recycled heat from appliances. Inspired by the majestic mountains surrounding Valsana, Moving Mountains is their holistic holiday experience. Moving Mountains encourages travelers to Move, Play, Nourish, Rest, and Give (a philosophy we’ve been known to celebrate, too).

HOW TO GET THERE
By Plane
160 km from Zurich Airport (ZRH)
By Train
Arosa is roughly two hours away from Zurich. Catch the AirTrain that goes to the main station, Zürich Hauptbahnhof. From there, take any number of trains to Chur ($30-$45). From Chur take the hourly Re R or Ext trains to Arosa. Altogether, the trains take about three hours and make for some spectacular scenery. We recommend the hydroelectric train with the Rhaetian Railway. In fact, the Rhaetian Railway has been using hydroelectric power on the Chur-Arosa line since its construction in 1912-14. Shuttle service is provided for guests using the Rhaetian Railway.
By Automobile
If you're coming by car, Chur, the nearest city, is a 40-minute drive on the A3, a windy upward road. If you travel by electric car, you will find numerous charging stations in Arosa. Chains or 4x4s are sometimes required when driving into the snow. There are four free charging stations for electric vehicles at the hotel.
