Since 2014, One Tree Planted has helped limit global deforestation while working to create a healthier climate.

The MISSION of One Tree Planted (OTP) is to make it  easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world by planting trees.

Why is it important?

One Tree Planted  focuses on the six pillars of why trees are so vital to the planet and our existence including; Air, Water, Biodiversity, Social Impacts, Health, and lastly, Climate. With rising deforestation, it’s important to know that  trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.

How do they do it?

It’s quite simple really, one dollar equals one tree planted. With each pooled donation, partners grow saplings, OTP’s team plant trees in rainy seasons, the trees are maintained and monitored, and reports on impact are generated.

Since 2014, OTP has worked with partners in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa to get trees in the ground and restore forests after fires and floods. They also create jobs, build communities, and protect habitats for biodiversity.

In North America, One Tree Planted has a variety of projects that are local to: Appalacia, British Columbia, California, Florida, Oregon, Mexico, and more. Learn more about the local reforestation regions of One Tree Planted here
