MIssion

   The mission of Charlie's Acres Farm Sanctuary is to rescue farm animals that were abused or destined for the dinner table. They strive to teach people about the beauty and intelligence of farm animals.

 

Why is it important?

More than 80 billion animals are killed yearly for human consumption; unfortunately, most have minimal legal protections. Charlie’s Acres Farm Sanctuary aims to educate people on the importance of farm animals and the issues and cruelties they face with commercial farming.

How do they do it?

Charlie’s Acres is dedicated to the care of rescued farm animals. They serve as a sanctuary where animals can live out their natural lives in peace, and as a venue for showing the general public that these intelligent beings deserve our compassion. With a comprehensive slate of programs, Charlie's Acres also teaches visitors and students about the health benefits and positive environmental impacts that a plant-based diet has on the planet.

Charlie’s Acres relies on donations from the public in order to sustain this sanctuary into the future.

How you can #TravelKindly:

 

  • Pay a visit to the sanctuary and meet the animals via guided tour. The donations made for the tour benefits the 150+ rescued residents as well as educational programs.
  • Get in a good stretch as well as an education during Goat Yoga sessions held regularly at the Sanctuary. 
  • Join them on Zoom through AirBnB Experiences for a one-hour virtual visit to the sanctuary and hear the stories of their rescued animal residents.
  • Learn how to eat plant-based with the Sanctuary’s comprehensive guide to eating Kinder. Be sure to use their local guide of plant-based eats when visiting Sonoma

Inn owners Suzanne and Bryce have been visiting the Russian River Valley for years, building memories with friends and family. The Mine + Farm Inn was a blank canvas with a rich history for them to build a space that had their handprints, love, and ideas woven in to share with the community.
