With initiatives like the Downtown Day Services Center, they provide essential resources such as meals, showers, and case management for neighbors experiencing homelessness, while revitalization efforts at Franklin Park and other green spaces create welcoming urban oases where residents and visitors can gather, recharge, and bask in the city’s spirit. Through arts and cultural activations, public space enhancements, and community-driven events, the foundation transforms downtown into a thriving hub that reflects the voices and needs of all those who call it home.   • Reserve a stay at Arlo Washington DC where every stay gives back. Each stay includes a donation to Downtown DC Foundation. Reserve Now. 
  • Downtown DC Foundation is always looking for volunteers at their Downtown Day Services Center facility to help serve lunch from 11am-1pm M-F. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 10:30 to register, help set up and receive instructions. Individuals should contact [email protected] to secure a spot to volunteer. 
  • The Downtown Day Services Center (DDSC) is always in need of clothing (particularly new socks, undergarments and shoes); new hygiene items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, shampoo, shaving supplies, lotion, deodorant, first aid kits and more; and books and games and activities for our common area. The DDSC also relies on donated items to fill a clothing closet for men and women, which includes seasonally-appropriate clothing, outerwear and shoes. All donations may be dropped off at the Downtown Day Services Center, 1313 New York Avenue NW, Lower Level, Washington DC 20005 between 9 am-4:45 pm on weekdays.
