ABOUT
The Setting
Framed by an impressive mountain landscape, the ski resort hamlet of Arosa sits at 1800 meters above sea level in Grisons (known to the German-speaking locals as Graubünden), Switzerland's eastern-most canton. Nestled at the bottom of the deep and wide Schanfigg Valley, the town was discovered 130 years ago as a health resort. The quaint village has developed into a modern-day vacation paradise that offers year-round activities that have zero to little negative impact on nature. As one of the "Alpine Pearls"-- a unique network of villages focused of soft mobility, Arosa gives visitors the possibility to arrive without a car at the destination and to have easy access to public transportation on-site as well as numerous offers of environmentally friendly vacation programs. A perfect fit for this eco-savvy village is the family-friendly Arosa Kulm Hotel & Alpin Spa, an uber-charming chalet founded in 1882. But don't let her age fool you. This stunning ski-in/ski-out property is full of modern-day initiatives. Their three-tiered sustainability program, which focuses on ecological, social, and economic importance, is just one of the many Kind factors that have us on the next hydroelectric train into Arosa.
Sleep and Sanctuary
A pleasant array of rooms and suites await you at the Arosa Kulm Hotel, with single rooms fashioned towards the fashionable solo adventurer to grand penthouse suites checking off all the boxes of luxurious lodging. In some rooms, you'll have balconies with mountain scenery to savor or separate living spaces for stretching out after a day on the mountain. In all rooms, you'll find modern bathrooms and cruelty-free amenities, mini-refrigerators, and exceptional comfort. Of course, Kind Travelers will also receive guaranteed late checkout, so feel free to hibernate a little longer in the plush organic bedding.
Eat. Pray. Eat.
With the abundance of activities that await you in Arosa, no doubt you'll work up an epic appetite. Fortunately, Arosa Kulm has a cornucopia of eateries to satisfy that condition with fresh flavors from around the globe as well as imaginative Alpine favorites.

HOW TO GET THERE
By Plane
160 km from Zurich Airport (ZRH)
By Train
Arosa is roughly two hours away from Zurich. Catch the airtrain that goes to the main station, Zürich Hauptbahnhof. From there, take any number of trains to Chur ($30-$45). From Chur take the hourly Re R or Ext trains to Arosa. The walk from Arosa is about 20 minutes. All together, the trains take about three hours and make for some spectacular scenery. We recommend the hydroelectric train with the Rhaetian Railway. In fact, the Rhaetian Railway has been using hydroelectric power on the Chur-Arosa line since its construction in 1912-14.
By Automobile
If you're coming by car, Chur, the nearest city, is a 40 minute drive on the A3, a windy upward road. If you travel by electric car, you will find numerous charging stations in Arosa. Chains or 4x4s are sometimes required when driving into snow. If you would like to avoid driving, you have the option of parking your vehicle in the multi-storey car park in Chur for the duration of your stay (Park & Ride, next to the train station, approx. CHF 10.00 per day). There is a bus station directly in front of the hotel, which makes getting around town easy and efficient.
