Virgin Hotels brings their signature standard of hospitality and heartfelt service to San Francisco with an eclectic new offering.

The Setting

Behold, the second member (next to Virgin Hotels Chicago, also a Kind Hotel) of the Virgin Hotels family is upon us and it’s a spectacular reimagining of what a boutique hotel can be. This dashing Green Leader Gold hotel is smack dab in San Francisco’s bustling SoMa (south of Market) neighborhood and it has all the clean and green attributes that has made Virgin Hotels one of our faves.

In fact, the leadership and staff is committed to reducing its impact to the planet and adopting plans and operations that will move them towards their goal of net zero waste and net zero carbon. We love them (arms stretched wide) this much.

Sleep and Sanctuary

The 192 guestrooms, or “Chambers” as they’re referred to in Virgin Hotels vernacular, plus two penthouse suites, combine the spirit of 60’s San Francisco rock & roll with modern day tech savvy. This signature two room style separates the sleeping lounge from the dressing room by a set of privacy doors. In the lounge, find an ergonomically designed bed, retro SMEG fridges with street level pricing on snacks, uninhibited Wi-Fi,  and an in-room yoga mat. The dressing room boasts a hallway with a massive smart closet by Poliform, a sit-down vanity with all the trimmings and a spacious bathroom with luxurious rain shower and bench. Furry BFF’s of all sizes are welcome to stay for free with their own set of personalized amenities and comfy beds.

Eat. Pray. Eat.

Commons Club is the apropos moniker of the lobby restaurant and bar which doubles as the social center of the hotel. Not only can you enjoy world-renowned chef Adrian Garcia’s thoughtful take on California cuisine, but emboldened cocktails and nightly DJ’s keep the room pulsing. Head up to the roof to find indoor/outdoor Everdene, a cozy garden boasting well-crafted drinks and bites paired with fabulous views of the city.

Commons Club - Stunning all day eatery where you can cozy up to the bar or in a booth and savor the scene with dishes like a sunchoke soup followed by tortelloni with wild mushroom and swiss chard.

Everdene - Sway to nightly dj’s enjoying a mix of hand crafted cocktails and culinary creations. Step outside and breath in the city vistas or rendezvous inside and indulge in a world of savory satisfaction. Dark on Sun & Mon.

The Art of De-stressing

For Kind Travelers looking to raise their heart rate, the 24 hour fitness center boasts to be the best hotel gym in San Francisco (we’re not arguing). This expansive gym features internet-equipped Technogym cardio machines where you can “get stuff done while you’re getting it done.” Also find a wide array of free weights, kettlebells, pilates balls and the like. And don’t forget about that yoga mat in your room. Bring it over to Yerba Buena Park and namaste for a while.

These patented bad boys have an ergonomic headboard and erectable footboard for all kinds of positions to enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows and what have yous. Work comfy, lounge lavishly and rest like modern royalty. Separated by the privacy doors from the sleeping lounge is the dressing room and all the comforts one would desire, a sit-down vanity, huge smart closet and luxurious bathroom. The “no nickel and diming” philosophy extends with superfast Wi-Fi throughout and street level prices on snacks and bevies. Noted, ADA compliant rooms are always offered.
