The Vintner’s Inn is a pinnacle of Wine Country splendor with a Green philosophy to match.

The Setting

The Vintner’s Inn is situated on 92 acres of vineyards, vegetable gardens and hiking paths in the postcard come to life that is the Russian River Valley. A mere 60 miles from San Francisco and adjacent to picturesque coastline and mountains, it’s no wonder this AAA rated wine country resort has been winning awards ad nauseum. However, the award that we’re warm and fuzzy about is the Environmentalist Level Award in the California Green Lodging program, meaning they have an environmental policy in place to meet all seven of the program’s criteria. A wine toast to that!

Sleep and Sanctuary

Each of the Vintner’s Inn 78 deluxe rooms and suites perfectly compliment its relaxing surroundings. You’ll find spacious patios on ground floors and upper floors boast balconies with peaceful views of manicured gardens, lush courtyards or surrounding vineyards. Sip your Vintner’s Inn wine (complimentary half bottles in deluxe rooms/full red and white bottles in suites) by the environmentally friendly fireplace and pick from healthy snacks in your in-room mini bar. Be sure to raise a glass in honor of choosing the finest in Sonoma Wine Country splendor.

Eat. Pray. Eat.

There’s a space for every culinary occasion at Vintners Inn, be that some of the best fine dining Sonoma County has to offer to a casual and cozy feast. The star of the scene is nestled next to Vintner’s Inn at John Ash & Co., the first Sonoma restaurant to introduce the concept of cooking with seasonal, locally sourced foods paired with the exceptional wines of the region. This icon is helmed by Executive Chef Thomas Schmidt who’s known for his innovative cuisine that compliments the restaurant’s award-winning wine list and from sourcing over 30 local farms and purveyors. The Front Room Bar & Lounge is the gathering place of locals and guests alike who enjoy noshing small plates and one of the best happy hours in town. The elegantly rustic River Vine Cafe is your breakfast, brunch, and lunch outpost showcasing seasonal foods and produce from local farmers and Vintner’s own organic garden.

John Ash & Co. - This romantic, fine dining restaurant will be an experience to remember. Foodies, “wine-ies” and even those less familiar will feel right at home within this fun and approachable environment. Dine on sumptuous Thai vegetable curry highlighting produce from local farms or indulge in the seasonal tasting menu, they just ask you do it dressed to reflect the elegance of the room, please.

The Front Room Bar & Grill - This is the perfect watering hole to unwind, meet new friends, and enjoy conversation while enjoying small plates or discovering new wines and a seasonal cocktail list. Dive into a plate of Di Stefano burrata cheese with arugula pesto among a lively happy hour crowd.

River Vine Cafe - This indoor/outdoor space embodies wine country charm and features locally sourced ingredients for early daytime munching. Sit outside by the stone fireplace, sip a local vino and savor a grilled vegetable lavosh wrap with zucchini, bell peppers, eggplant, romaine, homemade hummus and red wine vinaigrette. All produce local or grown on-site, naturally.

The Art of De-stressing

Every aspect of Vi La Vita Spa is designed to leave you feeling refreshed and renewed with your personal balance at an all-time high. Indulge in exclusive treatments in a serene vineyard setting boasting a wellness lounge with a stone fireplace, indoor Caldarium with a heated soaking pool, another outdoor pool, a steam sauna and spa boutique. Treatments include massages, polishes and scrubs, wraps, facials, skin care therapies and hair removal. Signature treatments like a Russian River hot stone massage are also recommended.

Take a stroll through flower and vegetable gardens or a jog the two-mile trail through the vineyards then hit the workout room for a pump up on state-of-the-art fitness equipment. Or, a glass of wine and a game of Bocce ball on the outdoor court set amongst the redwoods sounds like a lovely wine country de-stressor to us.
