ABOUT

The Setting

Monterey is considered to be the crown jewel of California’s jaw-droppingly beautiful Central Coast. Perched upon 19 pristine acres of beachfront real estate in the said crown jewel is The Sanctuary Beach Resort. This tranquil Kind retreat is marked by natural beauty, thoughtful amenities, and world-class area attractions. Set in the chic coastal town of Marina, The Sanctuary Beach Resort is a short drive from Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea where you’ll find the world-famous 17-mile drive and Pebble Beach, a golf course on every golfer's bucket list.

Also in Downtown Monterey is the Old Fisherman’s Wharf and the renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium – the latter a leader in marine life conservation. At The Sanctuary, you can take advantage of private beach access, complimentary bikes for cruising, lounging by the heated pool, beach yoga, hikes along the Marina Dunes Preserve, whale watching and sunset bonfires. You're also a guest in one of the most environmentally-conscious green hotels in Monterey Bay, which takes many steps to preserve the beauty of its surroundings. Apropos of that, we’ll offer golf claps (our golf claps are loud, thunderous applause).

From these locations, the bus lines branch out like spokes on a wheel.

The hourly 18 MST bus leaves Fremont/Casanova station near MRY and takes about 49m to reach the resort ($1-$3).

From SJC Terminal A, take the hourly 60 bus to Santa Clara Transit Center and hop on the Santa Clara Caltrain L1 L5 L4 L2 leaving every 30 min to San Jose Diridon Caltrain.
