Olema House is your gateway to exploration on California’s storied north coast.
The Setting
At the AAA Diamond awarded Olema House, touches of familiar Americana meld with inspired modern decor nodding with the quaint, historic town of Olema’s roots as both an adventurer’s paradise and artisan enclave. Meander four lush acres of private grounds or traverse through expansive lawns and tranquil gardens beside Olema Creek (prefferably with a glass of wine). Just an hour north of San Francisco and adjacent to the stunning Point Reyes National Seashore and the majesty of the west Marin countryside, Olema House is the adventurous Kind Traveler’s idyllic getaway.
Sleep and Sanctuary
Olema House features 22 rooms and two cottages set along four private acres of tranquil lawns and gardens. Each room is thoughtfully appointed and individually designed, from Deluxe Rooms with vaulted ceilings and wood-burning fireplaces, to spacious loft-style apartments and tucked-away private cottages. It’s a modern and efficient take on classic lodge living where you’ll find private patios, radiant heated floors, complimentary Wi-Fi, HD televisions and plush bedding. Your dogs are welcome to stay with a fee. They certainly won’t be “ruffin” it. Sorry.
Eat. Pray. Eat.
Located next door to Olema House, Due West restaurant is a sophisticated roadside saloon with a storied history. Housed in a cozily refurbished, circa-1865 building, the restaurant once catered to Point Reyes’s wagoners and travelers. Today, it welcomes new generations of journeyers and Kind Travelers alike, providing seasonal farm-to-fork fare, fresh oysters from Tomales Bay, local organic produce form Bolinas farms, local specialty beers and hand-crafted libations in a relaxed yet refined setting. From late-afternoon snacks to lively drinks or indulgent dinners, Due West is your hub to gather, relax and celebrate. Also worthy of note, Olema House offers guests free healthy breakfasts.
Due West - Reimagining the small town, Northern California inn as a convivial modern kitchen, Due West prides itself on offering the best seasonal provisions using local ingredients. Pair a local artisanal cheese plate with herbed quinoa & spinach with chickpeas, sundried tomato, pumpkin seeds bathed in a lemon tahini dressing. Open daily from noon- nine.
Due West Market - A modern iteration of the classic country store conveniently located adjacent to Olema House, Due West Market offers a curated selection of artisanal goods. Working closely with area farmers and community vendors, Due West Market sells a variety of healthy snacks, to-go meals, picnic essentials and beverages. Stop in for just-made sandwiches and salads, local cheeses, charcuterie, wine, coffee, ice cream and more.
The Art of De-stressing
There’s no shortage of activities to tackle during your Olema House stay, and adventure awaits for active Kind Travelers. In fact, just outside your doorstep is the stunning 71,000 acre Point Reyes National Seashore Park. Not to mention premier hiking and cycling trails, birdwatching, tide pool exploration, kayaking, tasting rooms and some of the best beaches Northern California has to offer. The team at Olema House prides itself upon knowing the best the area has to offer and is happy to offer recommendations or set up a personal itinerary.
