Choose Kensington Park Hotel for an elegant stay in historic Union Square, located in downtown San Francisco.

The Setting

Kensington Park is a showstopper in one of the most popular, historic parts of San Francisco, Union Square. Located in a historic building with a century-old past, the hotel finds balance, from classic features like hand-painted ceilings, to nice modern touches like complimentary refreshments to start and end your day. The happiest hour of the day, however, is the afternoon sherry aperitif. We’ll take another, bartender!

Sleep and Sanctuary

Kensington Park Hotel exemplifies grandeur, from its 1920s Gothic-style building to its classic, yet modern guestrooms, combining old-time elegance with modern-day flair. Mahogany furniture and classic décor converges with HDTVs and complimentary Wi-Fi. Kensington Park is pup-friendly (for a nominal fee). The hotel, too, has a strong eco-friendly game, featuring organic bath products and efficient water-saving fixtures. Mother Nature thanks you.

Eat. Pray. Eat.

Kensington Park is home to Farallon Restaurant, a fun seafood spot and oyster bar, catering to all guests alike, highlighted by tasty dishes that celebrate the local farms that many of the ingredients come from. The Jellyfish Lounge screams Little Mermaid, featuring marine-themed chandeliers floating above its beachy floor, scattered with octopus stools, kelp columns, and a caviar staircase made of indigo marbles. A table under the sea for three, please!

  • Farallon Restaurant – The main restaurant and Jellyfish Lounge share slightly different menus, and while seafood is the headliner, there are options for everyone.  Start with a salad, like the baby red romaine with heirloom carrots and sierra beauty apples, or the baby heirloom beets with watercress and black garlic vinaigrette. For dinner, we recommend the wild mushroom tortellini with purple cabbage, sage brown butter, and aged balsamic. Is your stomach growling?

The Art of De-stressing

After exploring San Francisco’s streets, come back to Kensington Park for some culture on the second floor at the SF Playhouse, a popular, local non-profit theater. Guests may reserve tickets when making their room reservations for this Kind organization that provides theater tickets to under-served youth in the area. That’s the kind of entertainment we can get behind!
