A Greek revival-style mansion, Hotel Ella finds an incredible balance between historic and contemporary design.
The Setting
Located in downtown Austin, walking distance to the University of Texas campus, Hotel Ella is a stylish boutique hotel with immense history. Housed in the Goodall Wooten House, one of Austin's original landmark estates, the Greek revival-style mansion recently underwent a complete renovation. The product? Incredible history with a touch of modernity –the beautifully designed outdoor and indoor spaces are sure to suit the luxury traveler and first-timer alike.
Sleep and Sanctuary
With 47 guestrooms, and 19 suites, Hotel Ella's elegant design will make you feel like you've been transported back in time. Black and white photos of notable Austinities hang on the walls of the bar and lobby, and gorgeous marble sculptures can also be found around the property. Each guestroom is decorated with incredible shades of neutral grey and slate blue, giving each room a unique feel that draws from the historicism of the building itself.
Eat. Pray. Eat.
With two dining options that reflect historic Austin, you'll find an array of mouthwatering American dishes that will surely not disappoint. Just a stone's throw from Hotel Ella's flagship eatery Goodall's Kitchen is the Ella Parlor Bar, a bar with a generation-before feel and tasty handcrafted cocktails.
- Goodall's Kitchen - An American bistro helmed by Chef Nick Leson, Goodall's offers a dining experience that fuses classic American favorites with just a bit of Austinian flare. Some of the crowd favorites include the Potato Gnocchi (roasted carrots, pumpkin seed pesto, and fresh goat cheese), and the Broccoli Beignets (pickled carrots, and lemon parmesan aioli). You'll find plenty of vegan, gluten-free, fair trade, and vegetarian options as well.
- Ella Parlor Bar - With a wide selection of artisan cocktails, beers, wines, and bar snacks, the Parlor Bar menu pairs eloquently with the décor –you'll feel the essence of the historic building as you enjoy your beverages. If whiskey is your poison, we suggest the Goodall's Old Fashioned.
The Art of De-stressing
Just when you forget what century you are in, Hotel Ella's warm Southern hospitality and superior service shine through during your stay.
- 24-Hour Fitness Facility - Hotel Ella's fitness center has all the equipment to allow you to tend to your body, no matter what the time of day. You'll find everything from treadmills, to free-weights and resistance equipment to get your body moving.
