What’s provocative, eco-friendly, and utterly glamorous all at once? Meet Dream Hotel, Miami.

The Setting

The above combination may seem a bit unexpected, yet Dream Miami pulls it off to the utmost perfection. If South Beach is sexy, Dream Hotel is Ryan Gosling x10. Its prime location on Collins Avenue leaves you fifty yards from the Miami Beach shoreline, not to mention as many clubs, restaurants, and shops to help you get into whatever kind of trouble suits your fancy. As Dream promotes on their website, “‘[they]’ll never tell (because [they]’ll probably be doing it too)." You’re in with the cool kids as soon as you enter this Moroccan themed/70’s-inspired beauty, whose glitz spans across decadent guestrooms, a natural spa, rooftop pool, and most famously, its drinking and dining scene. But what shines most in our Kind eyes? The eco-friendly heart of this place. Dream is all about putting Mama Nature first, adhering to Florida’s Green Lodging Program to protect and conserve the area’s natural resources. We do believe this #KindHotel may be a dream come true.

Sleep and Sanctuary

Turquoise hues, glittering accents, modern edges, and natural flair truly make each guest’s serenity center an oasis all of its own. The 107 rooms and suites, plus an unbelievable guesthouse (we mean it–seriously unreal) are all about dreamy comforts with an air of hip tranquility. Relax with oversized LCD TV’s, iPod docks, and high-speed WiFi while wrapped in waffle-knit robes atop 380+ count Egyptian cotton bedding. Aid this R&R further with the help of your fully-stocked private bar, coming standard in every room. As for the the environmental awesomeness? Rooms features low-flow water fixtures, high-efficiency air filters, green products when cleaned, and a linen/towel reuse program, just to top off the list. Your C.O Bigelow bath products show love for nature as well, being filled with organic oils so you can rub-a-dub-dub the green way. Lastly, all rooms are dog-friendly if you’d like to bring you four-legged friend.

Eat. Pray. Eat.

Celebrity Chef Ralph Pagano leads the fiesta that is Dream’s dining program. His seriously killer Mexican fare is in a league of its own (particularly the tacos, hence the restaurant’s name), challenged only by the frosty margaritas served alongside them. Naked Taco, the hotel’s main restaurant–which also encompasses two distinct bars, a terrace, and a rooftop lounge–has been dubbed as not only having the #1 marg in town, but also as Miami’s #1 spot for bachelorette parties. Don’t get too wild, ladies.

  • Naked Taco – This south-of-the-border grub is seriously authentic and delicious. Pagano’s simple preparation is “made by hand” streetfood with an upscale twist. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, greet the morning with a continental breakfast and fresh juice (or the South Beach way, with a Hangover Approved Bloody Mary). Naked Taco’s lunch and dinner menu is one and the same, but with so many drool-worthy options you’ll definitely need to dine for both. Tacos are served in soft corn, soft flour, or “naked” (lettuce wrap) shells; we recommend the general tso tempura cauliflower variety with spicy chili garlic, chopped nuts, and avocado crema. Other menu must have's include a side of elote: grilled street corn on the cob with chipotle and and queso fresco, plus the HOLY MOLY guacamole (literally written as such).
  • Bar Noche – Welcome to Naked Taco’s poppin’ nighttime haunt. As this place is famous for it’s fun and frosty margs, we recommend you start with any of these bad boys options, like the Guana Get Naked, Ginger Space, or Some Like It Hot with jalapeños. However, Noche also features a special mojito bar, too. It follows a three step process: “1. pick a fruit, 2. give it some sugar, 3. add some juice.” Why not go for a pineapple mojito with coconut sugar and don q rum? Sounds devilishly delicious to us.
  • Bar Mañana – Recover here in the mañana following an aforedescribed Noche experience. Coffee and sunshine (plus lots of water!) will make you feel better, we promise.
  • La Terraza – The third feature of Naked Taco is it’s outdoor La Terraza, providing you a front-row view of Miami’s myriad of nightlife. Sip cocktails, cheers beers, and make some friends along the way.
  • Highbar – Don’t the best parties always take place en-roof? ‘70’s-glam Highbar surrounds the hotel pool, featuring the same menu from Naked Taco, and top-notch views (sorry, we love puns). It’s the bougie place to booze anytime of day or night; have fun!
  • If you’re hungry but don’t feel like leaving your room (we don’t blame you; have you seen these beauties?) room service is available from Naked Taco as well.
The Art of De-stressing

South Beach is the perfect place to exercise outdoors, meaning a fitness center really isn’t necessary at Dream. However, if you do prefer to sweat via machine rather than sun, the hotel is affiliated with Crunch Gym, a block away, where day passes are available for guests. But what Dream may lack in fitness it makes up for with an ahhhmazing spa. Visit the Shala Spa Ayuverdic sanctuary for plant-based treatments that heal the whole person: tending to the mind, body, and soul. Which not-to-miss, all-natural treatments does Dream recommend? Shala’s Tailored Facial and Massage; the Kaya Kalpa Abhyanga aromatic oil experience; and most unique of all, the Chakra Balancing Ritual involving guided visualization, breath work, marma point therapy, and essential oils. Isn’t de-stressing what vacationing is all about? Head on over to Shala and treat yo’self.

Live life up top and de-stress further on the roof. Dream’s pool is surrounded by chaise loungers and cabanas, plus poolside booze and bites from the aforementioned Highbar. Arguably better than the perfectly heated turquoise waters here, however, are the unbeatable Atlantic Ocean views. After pool time, wander down to the lobby shop to grab some beach accessories before making your way down to the sand, and taking a dip in nature’s pool, too.

Guestrooms

Guestrooms begin with the Bronze Parlor option, featuring one full size Murphy bed (converts to a sofa) surrounded by drapes of sheer, mystical blue. Next up is the Golden Deluxe Double Double offering two full beds and added space, followed by the Silver Deluxe King with (wait for it) a king bed. Both of the latter options also include mood lighting, to make things groovier.

Suites

Up the ante and allure with three different types of suite. Gold Juniors come in both a King and Queen option, providing guests with sofas as well as full-length mirrors to help them get snazzy. But it’s in the Platinum Sun Suite King where things truly start to shine. As the first sleeping option to stray from blue hues, this enormous duplex not only brings in the sunshine with a yellow/red theme, but more integrally, let’s you get out into it: via a rooftop terrace with outdoor shower and sunbed, reached by spiral staircase. Talk about spoiling. When it’s time to cozy up at night, an added indoor amenity includes a second LCD TV (both larger than average).

Special Rooms

Looking for the utmost dazzling? Then Kind Traveler, it’s best you splurged on the Dream Hotel Guesthouse. This enormous space begins with a king in the master bedroom. Move on to the bathroom/dressing area with jetted tub and separate shower–the latter of which has its own TV, obviously–before entering a living room/dining room combo, and the real kicker, a covered rooftop deck. Its lavish details make you feel like true royalty, with dangling crystals hanging from the living room ceiling and spiraling white pillars adjuncting glittery walls of gold. This is what dreams are made of, people. Enjoy!
