If you thought the City of Angels didn’t actually make dreams come true, think again.

The Setting

Dream Hollywood truly stands in a league of its own–despite its iconic brand being famed for show-stopping properties worldwide. Spanning almost an entire city block in prime La La Land location, this isn’t just a hotel. It’s the Southern California dream come to life (a statement that serves as the hotel’s mission, and of which it most definitely succeeds). Its modern simplicity seamlessly fuses its sleek, dramatic interiors with natural outdoor elements, making an “out as in” vibe all around. Find strips of grass, stone tile flooring, nighttime lighting that mimics shadows cast by the sun, and an open-air pedestrian pathway between the lobby and nightlife area (which as a side note, is chiefly operated by the TAO group, featuring five on-site restaurants/bars) whose dividing half-walls are lined with candles to boot. The spacious lobby is centered around a 22-foot stone fireplace, reminiscent of the hearths found in many classic mid-century LA homes. But the real nod to Hollywood? Dream’s rooftop pool scene: as quintessential and utterly fabulous as a day in the SoCal sun can be. As a final note, dogs and cats are welcome, too.

Sleep and Sanctuary

As is to be expected from this stunner of a hotel, Dream’s accommodations are absolutely glamorous. Step in with keyless entry to your calming and comfortable guestroom, which is centered on a focus of environmental-friendliness; i.e. our Kind of place. The immediate draw will be your sprawling view— because guys, this place is made of windows for days. Enjoy floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall glass in every single one of its 178 guestrooms and suites, with those on the corners upping the ante with two such windowed walls. But while this means sunshiney, natural light all day long (plus cotton candy sunsets, as this is California) you’ll still sleep like a baby thanks to blackout shades drawn at night. Lather up in rainforest showers with cruelty-free CO BIgelow bath products: the empties of which are repurposed to third world countries and shelters, continuing the Kindness. Get techy with a bedside iPads attending to all of your vacation needs, in addition to complimentary high speed WiFi and 55” smart TV’s. Welcome to the future, Kind Travelers! (A ‘cheers’ at your fully-stocked minibar is encouraged, here). Dream has truly thought of everything you didn’t even know you needed.

Eat. Pray. Eat.

While this property is first and foremost a hotel, its drinking and dining repertoire serves as a separate attraction all together. Spanning five restaurants and nightclubs (plus the lobby: a grab-and-go bar by day and cocktail counter by night), the TAO group –in conjunction with the Warwick club wizards–truly knock it out of the park. Tour the globe with your taste buds, from the globally renowned TAO asian bistro (making its first west-coast appearance with this Kind Hotel) to mouth-watering Italian pizza lunch joint, plus American favorites–particularly, local SoCal fare–making sure there’s something here for everyone. This includes all different dietary specialties too (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and organic), both in room and all over the property. [*Menu highlights to come]

The Highlight Room – When in California, eat as the Californians do. Not only does this encompass a locally-inspired menu, served from breakfast through midday (and booze at night), but also the setting. Because this place is rooftop. Sip creative cocktails while dipping your toes in the pool, all to the backdrop of Hollywood Hills views, with the Pacific Ocean beyond. It really doesn’t get much better–or more LA–than this.

Beauty & Essex – The hotel’s main restaurant serves new American classics with a multi-ethnic twist. Its two-story dining room features outdoor seating on both levels, and also welcomes in natural light with a twenty-foot natural skylight. Because opulence.

Tao – Foodies have long flocked to this extravagant bistro’s other locations, so you should be totally stoked that it’s putting down roots on the West Coast, too. Its diverse Asian menu both spans and combines the likes of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai techniques/ingredients, culminating in a flavor extravaganza that shouldn’t be missed. Side note, this space is huge: encompassing 300 seats, four private dining rooms, a lengthy bar, and its focal point, a staircase of utter grandeur.

Luchini Pizzeria & Bar – Enjoy savory Italian eats at this by-the-slice pizza cafe: open for lunch, dinner, and late-night eats for your after-hour kids. One of the area’s most famous chefs–Alvin Cailan, the genius behind Eggslut (if you don’t know what this is, look and then eat it up)–leads the dream team here. Expect high quality eats with great service to boot.

Avenue Los Angeles – The splendor of old Hollywood is frozen in time at this hopping Los Angeles nightclub. It’s definitely the city's new place to see and be seen, featuring table service, a full bar, and of course, state-of-the-art everything. Nibble on delicious night bites to help wash down those shots.

Dream offers 24/7 in-room fine dining from a large menu of bistro-inspired cuisine. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and/or snacks, all in bed if you please.

The Art of De-stressing

De-stress and rejuvenate both body and mind with a personalized spa treatment in the comfort of your room. Melt away stressors with a luscious massage, or get your skin glowing with an aromatic facial– options that merely top the relaxation list. When feeling inclined towards the other end of the wellness spectrum, however, head to Dream’s state-of-the-art, 24-hour gym. The hotel has teamed up with local fitness expert Gunnar Peterson (and if he’s an expert by LA standards, you know this guy’s good) to offer a fully immersive fitness experience with a local twist. His program both tracks and assists fitness goals to help guests of all levels kick some serious butt–and tone it, too. We’re as intrigued as you are.

This all being said, sunny SoCal is definitely meant to be enjoyed outdoors, too. Rent one of the hotel’s custom bikes for some two-wheeled exploration, treating both you and Mother Nature at once. A word of the wise here, though: if riding on the streets, do so with caution. Los Angeles is internationally infamous for its drivers and ensuing traffic, meaning you really do need to make a point of holding onto your handlebars, and helmets. After accomplishing this undeniable adventure, head on up to The Highlight Room for the aforementioned quintessential Hollywood rooftop pool scene. Sprawl on chaise loungers or snazzy cabanas, which are made of retractable walls and roofs (entirely eliminating the sun v. shade dilemma). Poolside drinks encouraged.

Guestrooms

Dreams guestrooms begin in the Bronze King category, are available with balcony if you wish. here LA’s beauty and culture get playfully incorporated into every room, with artistic, modern touches and calming ocean colors. Take things up a notch (literally) with the Silver Kings: identical to their Bronze counterparts, but on the building’s top four floors. Silver Doubles are slightly larger in order to accommodate two queen beds. Swankier still are the apartment-style Gold Kings, featuring two love couches in addition to their king beds. Lastly and most exquisite? The loft-style apartment Platinum Kings, whose corner locations equate to 360-degree views of Los Angeles.

Suites

Dream’s accommodations are all about breathing room–and rest assured if you book yourself the Platinum Suite, you’ll have lots. While featuring a separate living room and master bedroom, the whole space still exudes openness, as well as gorgeousness, through and through.

Special Rooms

But believe it or not, the decadence continues. Be the true star of this star-studded city with a stay in the Guesthouse Presidential Suite. This space is more than three times as large as the Platinum Suite (*jaw drops to the floor...) and is home to every possible amenity a luxurious Angelonian could dream. Its living room is transformable into a private screening movie theater, and opens up to a landscaped terrace to welcome the warm breeze at night. You can also soak in this view while soaking in the oversized tub–since even the bathroom is glass encase– or from your velvety, plush, platform-raised, uber-cozy king sized bed. While it’ll be hard to leave this penthouse, but be sure to try.
