ABOUT
The Setting
Kauai, otherwise known as Hawaii’s “Garden Isle,” is covered with tropical rainforest and fringed with golden sand beaches, crystal blue waters and sculpted emerald mountains. Since the condo-centric Cliffs at Princeville dramatically resides on 22 acres of this lush landscape overlooking the Pacific, they have made a conscious effort to do their part to preserve this special place on Mother Earth. Turning their words into action, the Cliffs was recognized with Green Awards by the State of Hawaii, and in 2019 and 2021, was given the Platinum RCI Green Awardas #1 of 2500+ RCI resorts in North America for sustainability practices (RCI® is the global leader in vacation exchange properties).
The Cliffs’ sustainability goals aim to meet the needs of the current generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. With 3000+ solar panels and 202 Tesla batteries, the resort is more than 50% powered by renewable, clean energy. These joint goals encompass good health and wellbeing (including daily yoga on the resort’s expansive ocean lawn), clean water, affordable clean energy, industry innovation and infrastructure, climate action, and life below water and on the land. Speaking of land and water, there are six breathtaking beaches teeming with sea life and some of the world’s most postcard worthy hiking trails all within a 5-mile radius. And, to keep the land and water free of plastic polution, every guest is given aluminum reusable water bottles as part of their "Say Aloha to Plastic Water Bottles" program. Either use the ones they provide, or bring your own, and fill up at the FloWater stations on the property.
Sleep and Sanctuary
The Cliffs location overlooking the north shore of Kauai offers the perfect setting for quiet privacy in the comfort of 202 spacious condominium suites. Each of the one-bedroom suites, one-bedroom suites with loft or four-bedroom condos are perfect for families and groups and boast dual lanais for watching the sunsets or relaxing in the plumeria scented Kauai air. Each suite is tastefully decorated with custom made Polynesian hardwood furniture and features a fully-equipped kitchen, two full baths, separate living room and private master bedroom. In-room amenities include energy efficient washers and dryers and Wi-Fi.
Eat. Pray. Eat.
As a condo-centric concept, the Cliffs lacks a formal dining scene, but the area around Princeville and Hanalei is known for its fresh seafood and innovative dining concepts all within arm’s reach. We highly recommend Nourish Hanalei for some daytime bites featuring unbelievable bowls and wraps, and Bar Acuda, where seasonally fresh vegetables and organic ingredients are the heart and soul of the menu. The Cliffs hosts a variety of local food trucks most nights, plus a weekly organic farmers market with fruits, veggies and flowres from Govinda's Farm and fresh fish from Hanalei Fish Company. For your convenience, there are several BBQ grills located around the property, so bring home some provisions from weekly farmers market, or the nearby Anaina Hou Farmers Market at Kilauea, and toss ‘em on the grill.
